Boston Celtics: Kyrie Irving continues to carry team
By Sam Minton
Kyrie Irving continues to put the Boston Celtics on his back and prove that he is the No.1 guy on this team.
Kyrie Irving continues to be the spark that the Boston Celtics need. Who would have thought that?
After the Celtics surprising success in the playoffs last year, fans began to wonder do we really need Kyrie? Terry Rozier was balling out and looked like he could just take over the job.
Well, Irving has continued to prove this season that you would have to be an idiot to want to trade him. So far this season, Irving has been Boston’s best player. He is the only guy you can rely on to score.

Kyrie was amazing on Friday night. There was no shot that he couldn’t make. Irving was dribbling through the Toronto Raptors defense and just looked amazing. Irving scored 43 points and 11 assists and just dominated Toronto.
This is exactly what the Celtics need. They need Kyrie Irving to take the ball and work his magic. Irving’s most important stat is probably his assists. He is trying to move the ball and get his teammates involved and is still putting up over 40 points.
So far this season, Irving has proved that he needs to stay in Boston. If he doesn’t I think the city will riot.
Irving has proved how much the Celtics need him. I don’t know if Boston can win without him.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have struggled to get going this year. These guys looked to be the backbone of the team for this year and beyond. Al Horford is nearing the end of his career, and Gordon Hayward doesn’t seem to be himself.
I don’t care what Kyrie Irving demands. The Celtics need to pay up. It is clear that Irving is the star of the Boston Celtics.
It is plain and simple. If the Boston Celtics want to win they need to keep Kyrie Irving.
