Patrice Bergeron is an amazing two way forward for the Boston Bruins and the Professional Hockey Writers Association has taken notice.

Patrice Bergeron is such an amazing hockey player. Every time Boston Bruins fans get to watch him play they are watching a living legend.

There isn’t anything Bergeron can’t do. Do you need a goal? Bergeron can come through in the clutch. A player gets loose and is on a breakaway? Bergeron will chase him down.

Bergeron has had a great season so far. Especially when you factor in that he missed a decent chunk of time with an upper-body injury.

So far this season, Bergeron has 14 goals and 27 assists in 31 games played. Imagine the numbers he would have if he played the whole season?

It seems that the NHL media has noticed Bergeron’s great play. Halfway through the season, the Professional Hockey Writers Association named him the mid-season Selke award winner.

This doesn’t come as a surprise. Bergeron is an amazing two way forward.

A prime example of Patrice Bergeron’s defensive skill came in the 2019 Winter Classic. Chicago Blackhawks forward David Kampf had a breakaway but Bergeron raced back and caused a turnover. Later on in the sequence, Bergeron would score a goal and tie the game for the Bruins.

At this point, they might as well rename the Selke Award to the Bergeron award. If Bergeron was to win this year it would be the 5th Selke of his career.

Bergeron continues to be an amazing player year in and year out. He is the type of hockey player that all young guys should strive to be like.
