Kyler Murray has committed to football and he could be the New England Patriots quarterback of the future.

Now that the NFL season is over it is time to look to the future and the stars of tomorrow. Soon the NFL Draft will be here and one player could make sure that the New England Patriots dynasty lasts for many more years.

It is no secret that Tom Brady is near the end of his career. Even though he says he is playing until he is 45, every season could be Tom Brady’s last.

The Patriots need to plan for the future and that means finding Brady’s replacement. No offense to Danny Etling, but he definitely isn’t cut out for the job.

There is one quarterback in the 2019 NFL draft class who I think is up for the challenge. Kyler Murray could be the player that keeps the New England Patriots dynasty going.

Murray is coming off of an amazing Heisman Trophy winning season. He took over the college football world. Murray had over 4,000 passing yards and 42 touchdowns.

What makes Murray so special is his athleticism. If the pocket collapses he can scramble and extend a play. Still, Murray has a quality arm that should make him a successful quarterback in the NFL.

The only thing that should make Patriots fans nervous is Murray’s height. He is listed at 5’10” which is really short for an NFL quarterback. The last quarterback that was as short as Murray in the NFL was Doug Flutie.

We have seen short quarterbacks perform well in the NFL. Russell Wilson has become a quality quarterback even though he is only an inch taller. Drew Brees was even looked at as being too short and he has had an amazing career.

New England just has to worry about Murray getting picked up earlier in the draft. He is a Heisman Trophy winner and is projected to be drafted midway through the first round. The Patriots may have to move up to get the star QB.

With a couple years studying under Tom Brady, Kyler Murray could become the Patriots quarterback of the future.
