New England Patriots: Kyle Van Noy stunned by Rams horrible game plan
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots dominated the LA Rams in Super Bowl LIII. In a recent interview, Kyle Van Noy said the Rams game plan wasn’t anything special.
Some New England Patriots fans were stunned by the defense’s dominance in Super Bowl LIII. They held arguably the best offense in the league to 3 points. Well, now the offensive genius that was Sean McVay appears to be just a regular head coach.
This Super Bowl was a defensive battle which was the complete opposite of what was expected. We were supposed to have Tom Brady lead the Patriots to victory not New England’s front seven.

The Patriots proved that they aren’t just an offensive team anymore. Long gone are the days of Tom Brady bailing out the defense. Now Brady and the offense are the ones being bailed out.
Kyle Van Noy was one of the stars of Super Bowl LIII. He had 4 tackles (1 for a loss) and a sack.
Van Noy appeared on the Pardon My Take podcast and was shocked by the lack of change in the LA Rams game plan.
"“I couldn’t believe that,” Van Noy said. “They really didn’t do — not one wrinkle. I was like, ‘What the hell?’ They’ve got so many good players, they’ve got so many things they’ve done all year, and the one play they gave us which was a wrinkle was the [Brandin] Cooks screen that hit for a little bit.“And that was it… Or maybe too, we were playing so good they were like, ‘[Expletive], we don’t know what to do.’”"
The LA Rams were built up to be this amazing offense that couldn’t be stopped. Sean McVay was supposed to be a game planning genius, but when the pressure was on they failed.
New England was able to keep all of the Rams’ stars under wrap. The only player that had a decent game was Brandin Cooks.
But Todd Gurley had no impact, and Jared Goff faltered under pressure. This was a loss that could ruin a team.
The Rams were dealt a major reality check. They aren’t the big bad team that they appeared to be. Maybe the Rams will become the next Seattle Seahawks and will never be the same after losing to the Patriots.
The Patriots defense played a great game but the LA Rams poor game plan definitely made life easier for New England.
