Charlie McAvoy will become a free agent at the end of the season, but it looks like the defensemen wants to stay with the Boston Bruins.

Free agency can be a scary time for fans. If your team doesn’t have enough money you can watch one of your favorite players find a new home. Boston Bruins fans don’t have to worry about Charlie McAvoy breaking their hearts.

At the end of the season McAvoy will become a restricted free agent. That already gives the Bruins an added advantage, but it also seems like both sides want to make a deal happen.

Boston has become home for McAvoy and he can’t imagine himself anywhere else.

"“In Boston, there are times where I scratch my head and wonder just how lucky I am to be here and how fortunate I am,” McAvoy added. “I can’t imagine being anywhere else now. I play with a great group of guys, a great group of individuals and I live in a beautiful city with amazing fans and amazing facilities. I’m just blessed and fortunate; I’m so happy to be a Bruin.”"

This has been a difficult season for McAvoy. He has had to deal with some serious injuries and struggled early on in the season.

Now McAvoy has found his groove and was one of the main reasons that Boston was able to go on their amazing points streak.

This season McAvoy has only played in 43 games and has 5 goals and 17 assists. In his last 5 games, he tallied 3 assists.

Surely, McAvoy won’t be getting the deal he was hoping for before the season started. His health has been unreliable and it’s hard to pay someone when they aren’t playing.

I think McAvoy can become your No.1 defensemen. He is skilled in the offensive zone, but can also hold his own behind the goal line on defense. McAvoy isn’t afraid to be physical and can light players up.

Hopefully McAvoy will stay in Boston because the Boston Bruins definitely need him. Zdeno Chara isn’t getting any younger and he will retire soon. The Bruins need McAvoy for their top defensive pairing.

Next. Matt Grzelcyk will be hard to replace. dark

It is hard to even imagine Charlie McAvoy anywhere else. Boston seems to be the perfect place for him.
