New England Patriots: Tom Brady is better than Jimmy Johnson
By Sam Minton
NASCAR’s Jimmy Johnson claimed that he was as good of an athlete as Tom Brady. I would like to see Johnson quarterback the New England Patriots.
I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. I thought that this was a late April Fool’s joke. Jimmy Johnson, a NASCAR driver claimed he was as athletic as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Well I guess we are just making wild statements today. That’s like me saying I’m as good as Patrice Bergeron, it is absolutely insane.

Now NASCAR drivers do have to function in some serious conditions. Driver’s have to deal with temperature’s well above 100 degrees and have to make split-second decisions.
Johnson is also running the Boston Marathon which is an admirable accomplishment. Running 26.2 miles is something that I never could imagine doing. But to say you are on par with Tom Brady is just ludicrous.
Now Brady may not be the fastest guy but he is quite the athlete. His footwork is amazing and he also knows how to make split-second decisions. Being a quarterback well into your 40’s isn’t an easy job. We saw how quickly Peyton Manning deteriorated.
It’s not like Brady is struggling either. Last year was a great year for the quarterback. He threw for over 4,000 yards and had 29 touchdowns. Brady may have made some mistakes but there is no one I would rather have leading the offense.
Now Johnson may be a seven-time champion, but I would say it is much easier to win a NASCAR championship than a Super Bowl. No one is out there trying to light you up. If you really look at it all the drivers are doing is turning left.
So Jimmy Johnson deserves some respect. He may go down as the greatest NASCAR driver in the sport’s history, but he is no Tom Brady.
