Boston Celtics rumors: Marcus Smart nearing a return
By Sam Minton
Marcus Smart seems to be getting healthier by the day and recent video should have him returning to the Boston Celtics any day now.
The Boston Celtics have been without their heart and soul for a long time now, but it looks like Marcus Smart will be returning to the Boston Celtics before the end of the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Smart tore his left oblique about 4 weeks ago. When he first was injured the team said that Smart would be out for 4-6 weeks so this would be quite the recovery.

Recently we have seen Smart progress a lot. First we saw Smart running on the treadmill, then we saw him working on the court, and now he is even dunking.
Having Smart in the lineup will be a game changer. His defense is impeccable and he energizes the entire team. I can guarantee we will see Smart take a charge or dive for a loose ball in his first game back.
If Smart is able to return for Game 4 he could change the series. The tide could turn Boston’s way and they may even be able to slay the “Greek Freak” Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.
This season was also one of Smart’s best offensively. He may not have scored a ton of points, but he shot the ball much better. At one point he was even statistically one of the best shooters in the NBA.
We saw just how good the Boston Celtics could be when they demolished the Indiana Pacers. Then in Game 1 of the 2nd round they confirmed that they have the skills to make it to the NBA Finals. Imagine what they could do if Smart was back in the lineup?
The Celtics aren’t tipping their hand, but I think we will see Marcus Smart back on the court sooner rather than later.
