Hard hitting safety Rodney Harrison became the 29th member of the New England Patriots to get inducted to the team’s Hall of Fame.

The New England Patriots held their voting for the team’s Hall of Fame and the winner may surprise you.

This year’s class had a lot of talent. Mike Vrabel and Richard Seymour were the other finalists and my pick would have been Seymour. He was an absolute beast who had a knack for getting to the quarterback.

Still Rodney Harrison is one of the best safety’s that the New England Patriots have ever seen. He may not have started his career in New England, but this is where he became a star. He deserves to be in the Patriots Hall of Fame

Harrison only played 6 seasons for the New England Patriots, but he made them count. While in New England he tallied 8 interceptions, 7 forced fumbles, 441 tackles,  and more importantly 2 Super Bowl championships.

When he was on the field Harrison was making highlights left and right. He would absolutely light up opposing players.

Harrison has done well after his NFL career. He has transitioned to broadcasting and you can see him every Sunday night during the NFL season.

The cool thing about this induction is how much it meant to Harrison. He said that it meant more to him than getting inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"“I’m very grateful for the fans,” Harrison told reporters during a conference call on Monday. “The fact that the fans voted me in, it means more to me than say the Pro Football Hall of Fame because the fans got a chance to see me play every week. They got a chance to see the story and see the injuries and the adversity and the comeback and the plays that were made and the passion that was shown. They’re not going by reputation or rumors or anything like that, so it really meant a lot to me, the fact that the fans voted me in.”"

Now at first I would say that Harrison is crazy, but he actually makes some good points. This isn’t voted on by a selection committee or writers. Harrison was voted in by the fans.

One of Harrison’s best games came in the New England’s 3rd Super Bowl victory. Harrison had 2 interceptions and caught more passes from Donovan McNabb than Freddie Mitchell.

Next. Andrew Beck another diamond in the rough. dark

Harrison is well deserving of the honor and I can’t wait to see him in his red jacket this fall.
