Boston Celtics: The 2018-19 season was a complete failure
By Sam Minton
This season was supposed to be filled with success and possibly an NBA championship for the Boston Celtics, but the team fell apart and now their season is over.
This isn’t how things were expected to go. The Boston Celtics were supposed to be even better than they were last year. They had Gordon Hayward coming back, but for some reason the team failed to reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
The thing that makes you angry is that the Celtics made the Eastern Conference Finals without Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward. Adding these guys should at least get you back to that point or even further.

You could start to see some cracks during the regular season. The team was struggling to find it’s rhythm. Players weren’t hitting shots and the locker room was having issues as well.
This season we saw that Kyrie Irving isn’t ready to be a leader. He even said that he was working on being one, but I don’t know if he will ever be.
The Celtics locker room was as chaotic as it has ever been. Irving would call out younger players and blame them for the team’s struggles. Terry Rozier even mentioned how Kyrie’s attitude affects the entire locker room.
I’m expecting this offseason to involve some change in Boston. The team clearly doesn’t have what it takes to win an NBA Championship. This summer we may see the guy that was supposed to be the face of the franchise head somewhere else in search of a ring.
This team just gave up. That is what makes all of this worse. It is one thing to go down swinging, but this Celtics squad just let the Bucks win. Milwaukee is a great team, but the Celtics lack of effort made life easier for them.
There is no other way to put it. The 2018-19 season was a failure for the Boston Celtics.
