Boston Bruins: Karson Kuhlman perfect 2nd line injection
By Sam Minton
Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy made a bold move by inserting young winger Karson Kuhlman into the lineup. I think it’s fair to say that Kuhlman didn’t let the pressure get to him.
The two most amazing and scary words in sports are Game 7. One game will decide who is the champion and who is going home empty handed. Boston Bruins fans are biting their nails as we speak.
Now one of the reasons that the Bruins were victorious on Sunday night was thanks to a genius move by Bruce Cassidy. He decided to insert young winger Karson Kuhlman into the lineup. I think the move paid off.

Boston’s top lines have been struggling a lot. The Bruins were being carried by their 3rd and 4th lines. That all changed in Game 6.
Kuhlman was the gel that brought the 2nd line together. They had their best game of the Stanley Cup Finals. The 2nd line combined for a goal and 2 assists.
It’s not like Kuhlman has a ton of experience. He only played in 11 games this season, and has only appeared in 7 postseason games.
Kuhlman hadn’t played in a game in over a month, but there was no rust as he was able to notch his first postseason goal. It was a beauty as Kuhlman went bar down and gave the Bruins a 3-0 lead.
I’m pretty confident that we will be seeing Kuhlman in the lineup for Game 7. After his performance in Game 6 it would be idiotic to take him out. You feel for a guy like David Backes, but he won’t care if he plays as long as the Bruins win.
So thanks to the genius of Bruce Cassidy and the great play of Karson Kuhlman the Bruins made it to Game 7 and have a chance to lift the Stanley Cup at home in front of all their fans.
