The Boston Bruins have struggled as of late and head coach Bruce Cassidy is sick of the poor play.

If you have been watching the Boston Bruins recently you haven’t been pleased. The team has been struggling a lot recently, and Bruce Cassidy isn’t happy.

Boston is on a 3 game losing streak and with a matchup against the Washington Capitals coming up on Sunday it will probably be 4.

More from Chowder and Champions

Boston has constantly let up leads and poor defense and a lack of scoring is the root of the team’s problems.  When you are allowing 3 or more goals a night you are probably going to lose. Especially when most of your scoring is coming from one line.

Once again the Boston Bruins 1st line saved the day on Thursday providing the scoring for the entire team. David Pastrnak continued his amazing season scoring 2 goals to extend his season total to 30.

Right now Boston is 4th in the Eastern Conference, but things can quickly change. The 8th place Columbus Blue Jackets are only 2 points behind Boston.

If this losing streak goes on any longer Boston could find themselves out of a playoff spot.

Bruce Cassidy has had enough and you could tell with his comments after the game.

Cassidy would also go on to say that Tuukka Rask gave the Boston Bruins a chance to win seeming to blame the loss on the defense.

It will be interesting to see how the Boston Bruins react to this. They have a tough matchup against Washington, a team who has dominated them for what seems like an eternity. If Boston is somehow able to win the game it will definitely electrify fans, but I wouldn’t expect that.

More. Patrice Bergeron already won the Selke. light

So will this public tongue lashing get the Boston Bruins going or get them in even more of a funk?
