The Boston Bruins are in need of a goal scorer and Artemi Panarin could solve that problem in a major way.

The NHL trade deadline may not be as exciting as the MLB’s and the NBA’s, but some major trades can go down. It looks like this season the Boston Bruins will be looking to make a deal.

The Bruins should contend for a Stanley Cup. They have one of the best lines in hockey and should definitely make the playoffs.

The issue for the team is that all their scoring is consolidated to one line. Led by David Pastrnak the Boston Bruins 1st line has been doing the heavy lifting for the team.

Boston’s first line has combined for 63 goals and 95 assists this season. They have been tearing it up this season.

Besides that, the Bruins have been in desperate need of scoring, but one player could change all that.

Artemi Panarin is about to hit free agency, but Boston has the ability to go and get him for their Stanley Cup run.

Panarin is a goal-scoring machine. So far this season he has 19 goals and 36 assists. That would put him 2nd in goals and assists if he was on the Bruins.

Acquiring Panarin would also allow for Bruce Cassidy to balance out the lines. I would imagine that David Pastrnak would head down to the 2nd line so he can be reunited with David Krejci while Panarin plays with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron.

If Boston was able to acquire Panarin I think the Bruins have a good shot at winning the Stanley Cup. They would have two great lines who could score at will. It’s hard to win games when you aren’t scoring and Panarin could solve that problem.

Even if it is just for a rental I would consider acquiring Panarin. Giving up a draft pick and a young player isn’t that big of a deal. Especially when Boston is stacked with young talent. If the Bruins were able to win a Stanley Cup they could probably convince Panarin to stay as well.
