Josh Gordon is waiting to hear about his status for this season from the NFL, but it appears he is ready to return whenever he is called upon to join the New England Patriots.

The New England Patriots and Josh Gordon are just left waiting. There is nothing they can do to force the NFL to make a decision on Josh Gordon’s reinstatement.

The wide receiver already did his part. He recently filed for reinstatement and signed a deal with the Patriots in the offseason. If he was to get reinstated, he could link up with the Patriots immediately.

Now the fact that Gordon hasn’t been with the team the entire offseason can cause some issues. You have to question if he is in game shape especially if he missed the preseason. It may take some time for Gordon to get adjusted.

Well it looks like Gordon is doing just fine. Detroit Lions wide receiver Brandon Powell worked out with the Patriots receiver and said that he is ready to play.

"“It’s like watching a horse run,” Powell, who trained with Gordon at NUMA Speed in Gainesville, Fla., this offseason, recently told the Boston Herald’s Kevin Duffy. “He goes from zero to 100. To be so big and run like that, it’s pretty crazy … We run conditioning on the track — 100s, 150s — and he dusts everybody. ” … If you train with him, you wouldn’t even know that he’s suspended or anything.”"

If the Patriots have Gordon on their active roster it would be a gamechanger. We saw last season just how special of a player he is.

In a short period of time Gordon was able to make a big impact. In just 11 games in New England, Gordon had 40 catches for 720 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Gordon added a new element to the Patriots offense. He was one of Tom Brady’s only deep threats. Now there is the possibility that Brady could chuck the ball up to N’Keal Harry and Gordon.

So we will just have to wait and see what happens. Josh Gordon should be playing football. He’s suspended for something that is legal to do in Massachusetts. After the terrible PR the NFL has gotten in the offseason thanks to Tyreek Hill, they can’t afford anymore bad press.

Hopefully soon enough we will see Josh Gordon playing for the New England Patriots.
