New England Patriots rumors: Team mishandled Josh Gordon

The New England Patriots look like they are moving on from Josh Gordon and it’s stunning how the team has mishandled the wide receiver.

Like a lot of New England Patriots fans, I was stunned when the news of Josh Gordon came out. Even with the acquisition of Mohamed Sanu they were weak at wide receiver, this move didn’t help.

When the news first broke something seemed off. Gordon seemed like he was ready to come back from his knee injury.

So why on Earth would the New England Patriots put him on the IR? What were they planning?

Immediately this made the Sanu trade look much more appetizing. The Patriots must have known they were moving Gordon to the IR. That’s why they might have paid a little bit more than they should of.

Then things took another wild turn. Ian Rapaport reported that Gordon is going to play at some point this season just not for the Patriots. Once he is healthy the Patriots plan on putting him on waivers.

Why wouldn’t the Patriots bring Gordon back? He is one of their best receivers and also a fan favorite.

When Gordon came over fans were hoping that he would turn over a new leaf. He had his struggles with addiction and this season he finally seemed to be in a good place.

Gordon was having an okay season as well. He had 20 catches for almost 300 yards and a touchdown.

I’m just really sad to see Josh Gordon go. I’m glad he was able to get a Super Bowl ring but it seemed like he was going to have a breakout season this year. it seemed like he would stay in New England for the rest of his career.

It looks like we might be seeing the end of Josh Gordon’s career. A career that was full of promise and talent. The question will always be what if Gordon played an entire career and avoided suspensions? The possibilities are endless.
