The Boston Celtics were happy to see Jayson Tatum named to the All-Star game, but Jaylen Brown should be the one headed to Chicago.

There are plenty of reasons for Boston Celtics fans to be happy. The team is playing great and just beat the Golden State Warriors 119-104 on Thursday night.

Also on Thursday night, we learned that Jayson Tatum would be headed to his first All-Star game. This is just another step in Tatum’s journey to becoming one of the best players in the NBA.

Now I’m happy for Tatum. Hopefully, people will stop trying to complain about him needing to perform better.

But Tatum shouldn’t be the one headed to Chicago, Jaylen Brown should be.

Brown is having the best season of his career. He is averaging 20.1 points and 6.6 rebounds a game.

We know that Kemba Walker is the leader of the team both on and off the court. He is leading the Celtics in points.

But Brown has really stepped up this season. When Walker has been injured he has been a leader on the court. His numbers might not be as flashy as Tatum’s but you can’t deny his impact on the team this season.

Now there is plenty of reasons why Tatum made the All-Star game over Brown. Tatum is definitely a more popular player across the NBA. Also, his numbers are slightly better than Brown’s.

I don’t know if Celtics fans expected to be arguing about what players should have made the All-Star game before the season started. This was supposed to be a season of regression but it has been quite the opposite.

Boston is playing better than ever and that is partly thanks to Jaylen Brown’s great play and that is why I am disappointed that won’t be participating in the All-Star game.
