Tuukka Rask has been a dominant goaltender for the Boston Bruins and should win the Vezina Trophy this season.
Goaltending can make a team a contender or ruin a team’s chances at a Stanley Cup. You need a goalie who can bail you out and literally save the game.

Tuukka Rask has done everything the Bruins have asked of him and more. He leads the league in goals against (2.08) and is 2nd in save percentage (.931). We haven’t seen Rask play this well since he won the Vezina in 2014.
Rask is also winning games. He has a record of 22-5-6 this season. What more could you ask from your starting goaltender?
It’s amazing to think of how Bruins fans hated this guy. He is the best goaltender in the league. Rask is one of the main reasons that the Bruins have been so succesful in recent years.
There will definitely be some challenges when it comes to winning the Vezina. Rask will obviously have to maintain a high level of play, but there is an argument that his game is boosted by his backup, Jaroslav Halak.
Halak could be a starting goaltender. He has made life a lot easier for the Boston Bruins. They can keep Rask well rested because they trust Halak won’t blow games between the pipes.
Halak boasts a 15-6-6 record with a 2.31 goals against average and a .922 save percentage. Those numbers are nothing to scoff at.
But the stats speak for themselves. Tuukka Rask is the best goaltender in the league and is helping lead the top team in the NHL to an amazing season. If that doesn’t win you a Vezina Trophy I don’t know what will.
