Boston Celtics news: Jayson Tatum owned February
By Sam Minton
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum dominated throughout the month of February and was rightly named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month.
You would have to be hiding under a rock to not realize how amazing of a February Jayson Tatum had. He was the driving force behind the Boston Celtics success.
The 2019-20 season has been defined by Jayson Tatum taking the next step. He has asserted his dominance over opposing teams and showed he will quickly be an NBA superstar (if he isn’t one already).

Tatum’s performance in February can only be described as amazing. He averaged 30.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
What was also impressive was Tatum’s efficiency. From the field and from behind the three point line Tatum was shooting nearly 50 percent.
The NBA rightfully honored Tatum and named him the Player of the Month for the Eastern Conference.
It’s just been amazing to see how well Tatum has played this season but especially in February. With Kemba Walker out Tatum stepped up and played amazingly. It will be interesting to see how Tatum’s play translates now that Walker has returned. Will he continue to score like he did in February?
I think we will because Walker has spoken how he wants to defer more to Tatum. We need to continue to see Tatum with the ball in his hands if he wants to continue to grow.
Having Walker will be a major lift for the team as a whole. The leadership and skill he possesses make him the perfect leader for the Boston Celtics. They are without a doubt better when he is on the court.
But Jayson Tatum deserves to be congratulated for what was an amazing February. If he keeps playing like that we might even hear his name in the MVP conversation.
