First off Walker has played great on the court. He is only behind Jayson Tatum in points (21.7) and is also averaging 5 assists per game.
But arguably Walker’s greatest impact comes off the court. He is the perfect leader and mentor. He is someone Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown can rely on for advice and how life is as a pro.
One of the moments that stuck out to me was after a tough game. Walker didn’t blame the young players he blamed himself. That is exactly the type of trait you expect from a team leader.
I can’t wait to see how far the Celtics can go with Walker. I really think he could help the team raise another banner in Boston.
