New England Patriots: A dangerous duo to watch in 2020
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots will have a new quarterback in 2020 and it seems that Jarrett Stidham and N’Keal Harry will be a duo to watch.
This will be a season of change for the New England Patriots. The face of the franchise is gone and many key players have left the team. But that change might have led to something, a new duo that could become quite dangerous.
Last season we saw the Patriots draft a wide receiver in the 1st round. That’s rarer than seeing Halley’s comet and a solar eclipse on the same day.

N’Keal Harry didn’t really get a chance to show off his skills in 2019. We saw glimmers but really didn’t get to see the full picture.
Harry struggled with injuries and also failed to build a lot of chemistry with Tom Brady. Don’t be quick to blame Harry because Brady has a tough time trusting young wideouts who are new to the system.
But now things have changed. Jarrett Stidham appears to be the Patriots starting quarterback and it seems like he will be relying on Harry a lot.
Obviously, we have no idea if OTA’s and other activities will take place at this point. Everything is up in the air. Stidham and Harry are planning on finding a way to workout.
"“I talked to Stidham the other day to make sure we read the (passing game) script,” Harry said. “If this goes on for a long time and there is no offseason training or OTAs, we’re going to have to meet up and get to work.”"
Unlike Tom Brady, it appears that Stidham is willing to work with his receivers in the offseason. This will be a key for Stidham to get off to a good start this season.
Stidham will likely rely on Harry a lot more than Brady did because they are peas in a pod. They both were drafted last season and showed some talent in the limited amount of snaps they got in the preseason.
Harry is a talented wide receiver. We have seen what he can do in the open field and his impressive athleticism. I also think that Harry could become a red zone threat with his height and ability to go up and get balls. Stidham might let it fly more than Brady did.
Of course, Julian Edelman will be a major part of the offense but I expect guys like Harry and Jakobi Meyers to have a larger role. The trust factor will be there and they will be expected to perform. No longer do you have to earn your way into the Brady circle.
If N’Keal Harry and Jarrett Stidham get off to a good start they could become a dangerous duo that could become the future pillars of New England’s offense.
