The New England Patriots are in the market for a quarterback and there seems to be a lot of interest in James Madison QB Ben DiNucci.

All offseason the New England Patriots have been looking for a quarterback. Ever since Tom Brady left the team, fans have been wondering who will be under center for Week 1.

Jarrett Stidham seems to be leading the way so far. With the guidance of Brian Hoyer, it would be interesting to see how well the 2nd year QB could do. Stidham has some speed and could bring something new to the Patriots offense.

Stidham has speed and can breakout for some decent runs. We saw that in the preseason of 2019. Stidham appears to have the skills to be a quality QB in the NFL.

But the Patriots have also been active when it comes to looking at QB’s in the draft. Of course, there are the Justin Herbert’s, Jordan Love’s, and Tua Tagovailoa’s of the world. Everyone will be looking to get these guys.

New England has looked at these studs but also is taking an unorthodox approach. They are looking at some of the lesser known players in the draft. One of these guys is Ben DiNucci.

DiNucci had the best season of his college career with James Madison in the FCS. He threw for 3,441 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Arguably the most impressive stat is that DiNucci completed 70 percent of his passes. That is the type of accuracy you want to see from a future NFL QB.

What makes DiNucci stand out from other quarterbacks is his running ability. He ran for over 500 yards last season.

I can’t imagine that the Patriots would plan on starting DiNucci. He definitely needs time to develop and Stidham is ready to get his shot at the starting job.

Expect the Patriots to be on the hunt for a QB for a while. If Stidham all of a sudden becomes the next Tom Brady that would be a miracle.

The Seattle Seahawks had to go through a lot of QB’s before they got lucky and wound up with Russell Wilson. Sometimes all a team can do is keep drafting until you find your franchise quarterback.

DiNucci could easily land in New England simply because he is projected to be a late-round pick. New England isn’t stacked upfront but has a decent number of selections at the back end of the draft. The quarterback could become yet another diamond in the rough that becomes successful in New England.
