New England Patriots Rumors: Rob Gronkowski adds fuel to fire

Rumors of a possible trade between the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have heated up and Rob Gronkowski hasn’t done anything to stop them.

With Tom Brady now on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it only seemed obvious that rumors would swirl aplenty about New England Patriots abandoning ship and headed to Florida.

It all started with the rumors of Julian Edelman and a possible trade that would send him to Tampa to be with his BFF. It sure looks like that won’t be happening.

One of the latest trade rumors has Rob Gronkowski joining Brady in Tampa Bay. The rumor was started by a dog (PFT commentator’s to be exact). While some of these alleged scoops have been nothing some have ended up coming true.

No matter how the rumor started it is an easy conclusion to reach. Brady has free reign down in Tampa as ownership and the front office will do anything to make him happy.

It has been rumored that Bill Belichick could have played a part in Gronkowski retiring so early. Playing for Belichick can be tiring for a fun loving guy like Gronk who just wants to have fun.

If Gronkowski was to unretire it would make sense for him to go to the Bucs and linkup with Tom Brady. It seems to be the perfect environment for him.

Now if these rumors were untrue it would be easy for Gronkowski to say that they are false and he is enjoying retirement. The guy has a title in WWE and he has barely been there.

But of course, Gronk couldn’t do that. He even said that the dog could be creating a storm.

I mean this has been par for the course for Gronkowski. He seems to love to tease a possible return.

What makes this rumor sort of legitimate is the Bucs tight end situation. Tampa is rumored to want to get rid of O.J. Howard and he is just what the Patriots need.

The Patriots tight end production was poor to say the least last season. Adding Howard would be an upgrade from Matt LaCosse.

It would be interesting to see what New England could get for Gronkowski. He is regarded as the best tight end in history but he has been out of the game for a year. Tampa would most likely need to sweeten the pot a bit more.

Rob Gronkowski continues to play these games even though it’s unlikely he returns. Gronk seems to be enjoying the perks of being retired.
