New England Patriots: Not a hot take to say Buffalo Bills will win AFC East

ESPN’s Dianna Russini claimed that the New England Patriots won’t win the AFC East and it’s not that crazy of an outcome.
For a while, it was a lock that the New England Patriots would win the AFC East. There was no way that the Buffalo Bills or New York Jets were touching 1st place, but now everything has changed.
The New England Patriots have experienced a lot of change, the major one being the loss of Tom Brady. When you lose a player of his caliber it can be a big blow.

But Brady wasn’t the Patriots only loss. The team also lost guys like Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins.
Patriots fans will be witnessing the beginning of a new era for the team. This will likely involve a young quarterback such as Jarrett Stidham taking over.
On Tuesday ESPN’s Dianna Russini claimed to have a bold take saying that the Bills will win the AFC East but that isn’t so outlandish to say.
The Bills made a major move in acquiring Stefon Diggs. This gives Josh Allen a major weapon to work with. Allen has an amazing arm so we could see Diggs and Allen connecting on some deep balls. The question is will Allen hit his target.
2019 was also a pretty impressive year for the Bills. They were 10-6 and that was with Brady in the division. Now imagine what they can do now that Brady is gone and they added Diggs.
Still it is very possible that the Patriots do win the AFC East. We don’t know what Stidham will be. He has been receiving a lot of hype but he could be a flop. We just have to wait and see what happens in 2020.
New England will likely rely on their defense a lot. Stephon Gilmore, Lawrence Guy, and Dont’a Hightower will need to step up in 2020.

But the AFC East is not locked up. It is probably more likely that New England once again plays on Wildcard weekend than wins the division. If they make the playoffs at all New England Patriot fans should be grateful not angry.
