New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft spoke to Sean Hannity and seemed rather confident that a 2020 season will be played.

We are just finding out that the Boston Bruins will be skating at some point this year and now it is looking like the New England Patriots will be taking the field as well. That’s at least what Robert Kraft thinks.

We have no idea what football will look like in 2020. For all we know players could be wearing masks out on the field. Oakley is already doing research trying to make a facemask with N95 material.

But there is one guy who is confident we will be playing football in 2020 and that man is Robert Kraft. The Patriots owner even believes that fans will be in attendance.

"“We’re preparing to hopefully play football this fall,” Kraft said. “We’re working hand-in-hand with our union, we believe we’ve developed protocols that allow us to do it in a safe way, looking out first for our players and our personnel and then, of course, the fans. I believe we can do it.”"

That seems like a rather bold assumption with the times we are currently living in. It’s hard to imagine 60,000 people being packed into a stadium.

It will be a slow return to normal. People will need to test out the waters before they do things like attend large sporting events.

The Patriots would probably benefit from a season not being played. This would let the loss of Tom Brady fall to the back of people’s minds and help ensure that Jarrett Stidham is ready to take over the starting job.

But at the end of the day, we just want our sports back. There doesn’t need to be fans and we don’t have to be present. All we need is to be able to turn on the TV, sit back, forget about everything going on and root for our favorite team.

Even though a season being played might hurt New England there is plenty of interesting storylines surrounding the team. How will Stidham do? Will Sony Michel bounce back? Who will come out of nowhere and have a great season?

Not a hot take to say Buffalo Bills will win AFC East. dark. Next

Hopefully, Kraft’s confidence shows that eventually, football will be back this year and that we will be able to see what this Patriots team is made of.
