Jalen Rose believes the Boston Celtics will reach the NBA Finals and fans are hoping that his prediction comes true.

The NBA will soon be back and Boston Celtics fans can’t wait to watch their favorite team play again.

Prior to the season being put on pause the team was playing great. Jayson Tatum was playing some of the best basketball of his entire career and the entire team was gelling on the court. It was clear that Boston was one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.

But now there is some skepticism. We don’t know how the playoffs will work. Will, it just be the top 16 teams or will it be separated by conference like usual? This makes all the difference.

If it’s the 16 best teams Boston has a tough road ahead. They could face the LA Clippers in the 2nd round.

But if they are separated by conferences the Celtics could go far. It all depends on how the matchups work out.

One guy who seems to be confident in Boston is Jalen Rose. Rose thinks that the Celtics will make it to the NBA Finals.

"“I’m loving teams like the Celtics and the Rockets,” Rose said Thursday on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown.” “Small ball, spread it out and take advantage of the big guys that can’t score against the little guys. That’s really what it’s gonna be. It’s gonna be like AAU out there. These dudes have been off for months. …Boston’s winning the East. The more I think about this — God, strike me down. I hadn’t said this out of my mouth or even thought about it one time until we had this conversation, until right now. Boston’s winning the East.”"

Now I understand where Rose is coming from. The Celtics should do well seeing that they have a rather young team. Jaylen Brown and Tatum shouldn’t miss a beat.

Also, the Celtics will be getting a healthy Kemba Walker. Walker dealt with some injury issues so the time off was probably a blessing in disguise.

But there is one problem, the Celtics have to go up against the Bucks. It’s tough to think that Boston can stop Giannis Antetokounmpo in a 7 game series. The man is as close to unstoppable as possible. Even if Boston can stop Giannis, Khris Middleton has always been a problem for the C’s.

So for once I really hope Rose is right. I would love for the Celtics to make it to the NBA Finals but it seems highly unlikely. Even if they do make it they will likely lose to the Clippers or Lakers who have been waiting all season to dominate in the playoffs.

But don’t worry Celtics fans, soon enough the team will be back in the NBA Finals. It might just take another year or two.
