With the New England Patriots, Tom Brady’s stats were other-worldly.

This is an article about Tom Brady’s time with the New England Patriots. But then again, it’s not really an article about Brady in New England, as such. Let me explain if I can.

This is an article that arose from looking very briefly at a table of annual statistics compiled by Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr. AKA Tom Brady, the GOAT, the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. New England’s finest player ever.

Former Patriots all-time great quarterback Tom Brady is a legend. We all know that. He’s won more Super Bowls than anyone else. There have been volumes written about Brady already.

Blanda had 1,911 completions out of 4,007 in his career. To date, Mr. Brady has 6,377 completions and 9,988 passes. Well, what about Peyton Manning? (He played 4 years in Denver. Didn’t remember that.) Not bad, but not so many.

Manning had 6,125  completions and 9,380 passes. Brady has more, and he’ll be adding to those totals this season and thereafter. A whole lot.

I’ve written before about the bad decision making of the Patriots brass in the Brady affair. Not accommodating Brady was one of the biggest mistakes this franchise has ever made. I stand by those comments. It will be the downfall of the organization.

And don’t be surprised if he plays another 3-5 years, and he racks up many more hundreds or thousands of those statistics, all of which should all have been in the blue, red, silver and white of the Patriots. Every one of them.

That’s just a doggone shame. But at least we can marvel at those stats.

And we can be grateful that until the Patriots management took leave of their senses, this amazing player and man donated all those statistics to us. Tom Brady, we thank you.
