Marcus Smart became the latest member of the Jayson Tatum hype train and Boston Celtics fans will be happy when they hear what Smart said.

We all know how much Boston Celtics fans love Jayson Tatum. The man is the future of the team and some would say that he is the future of the league.

Even more recently we saw NBA legend Scottie Pippen hype up Tatum and now it has spread to his teammates.

More from Chowder and Champions

When it comes to the leader in the Celtics locker room there are two guys. Of course Jaylen Brown is a vocal player inside the locker room and out.

But also there is Marcus Smart. I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t been named the official team captain.

Smart just plays the game the right way. Whenever he enters the game he brings a surge of energy.

Also Smart is one of the best defensive players in the game. He doesn’t just defend guards, he can even guard some of the larger players in the game.

But speaking on Tuesday, Smart wasn’t afraid to talk about how great of a player Tatum is.

Now that is quite the claim. As much as Celtics fans love Tatum he still has some work to do. Tatum hasn’t even won a championship yet. If he wants to be one of the best players to ever play the game he needs a ring.

Still, this season was definitely a promising one for Tatum. He averaged 23.6 points and 7.1 rebounds a game. Tatum got his first All-Star nod and looks like he could be in for some more success this season.

It seems like more analysts each and every day are talking about how succesfull the Celtics will be this postseason. It seems as though they might be right.

The Celtics style of play and their young roster will help them out a lot. Also, Kemba Walker is healthy and combined with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown that could be dangerous for opposing teams.

If Tatum and the C’s were able to win a championship in 2020 this would be a great start to Tatum’s career. He would be well on his way to a legendary career. Tatum is the future of the C’s.

So as we get closer to the NBA playoffs people continue to hype up Tatum. Hopefully, he backs it up when he and the Celtics finally hit the court in Orlando.
