New England Patriots: Cam Newton is ready to replace Tom Brady
By Sam Minton
Speaking at a roundtable discussion with Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz, Cam Newton talked about how he is ready to replace New England Patriots legend Tom Brady.
Whoever starts for the New England Patriots will have an extremely tough job. They have to fill the shoes of Tom Brady. That almost feels like an impossible task.
How could someone replace the greatest quarterback of all time? There almost seems no way of being able to succeed.

But one guy seems to be up for the job. Cam Newton wants to be the next guy under center for the Patriots.
Newton was recently in a roundtable discussion with the likes of Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz. He showed just how ready he is to take over.
"“You know who [you’re] coming after? I’m like, yeah, great. What he was, what he is, is great, needs no even talking about it,” Newton said. “But one thing about it, though: Coach [Josh] McDaniels, you’re able to call some stuff that you ain’t ever been able to call now.“You’re getting a dog. You’re getting one of these ticked-off dogs too. And I’m looking at the schedule and I’m like, ‘Who we’re playing? That team passed on me! OK, that team passed on me. They could’ve came and got me.'”"
One reason that Newton could find success is that he has the confidence to take over. Newton probably even believes that he is better than Brady.
In 2020 Newton just might be. As Newton said, this will give Josh McDaniels a quarterback with so many skills. Now he can gameplan for some designed QB runs. It will be interesting to see what he is able to do.
Unlike Brady, Newton is also known for his deep-ball ability. His arm strength is impeccable and it will be interesting to see Newton work with a guy like N’Keal Harry.
Newton has been doing everything right so far this offseason. He is working out with his new teammates and seems ready to do whatever it takes to succeed in New England.
Also, Newton seems as motivated as ever. He wants to prove to every team that passed on him that they made a big mistake. How could they have passed on a former NFL MVP?
This once boring Patriots 2020 season is now filled with life and that is all thanks to Newton. He has injected some life and hope into New England.
Newton is ready to replace Brady and he might be the only one able to fill the legend’s shoes.
