The Boston Bruins need to bounce back on Wednesday and now that Steven Stamkos is not playing, Boston needs to win.

The Boston Bruins didn’t get out to the best start up in Toronto. Quite frankly the team looked awful and if they continue to play poorly they won’t go far in the postseason.

Boston needs to fix things fast and that starts on Wednesday. The B’s go up against the Lightning and that should be a fun matchup to watch.

More from Chowder and Champions

Tampa will be missing a key player as Steven Stamkos will not be playing on Wednesday. Of course, the Lightning have a lot of talented players such as Nikita Kucherov but Stamkos is the heart of the team.

It would be like the Bruins losing Patrice Bergeron. They are just a different team without him.

On the other hand, the Bruins will be getting a player back. Tuukka Rask should be starting on Wednesday.

This is great news for the team as scoring around the league has been down. Rask and Jaroslav Halak need to be on their a-game.

Wednesday is a must-win for the Boston Bruins

But Boston’s entire roster needs to be better. When Anders Bjork and Jeremy Lauzon are some of your more impressive players you know that something is wrong.

The Bruins first line needs to be better. They need to start creating some scoring.

Also, this is pretty much a must-win game for Boston. Out of the top 4 teams in the Eastern Conference, Boston is the only team without points.

Losing this game would be a crucial blow. As much as home-ice advantage doesn’t matter seeing that everyone is playing at a neutral site, Boston needs to show that they are still the best team in the NHL. This could really hurt their confidence headed into the playoffs.

I expect Boston to bounce back and get a win, but if they don’t it might be time to get worried. Could the layoff hurt Boston’s chances of winning the cup?

So Bruins fans should be focused on Boston’s play on Wednesday. Will they bounce back or will they continue to struggle?
