The New England Patriots were unable to defeat the Buffalo Bills in Week 8 showing just how much they have struggled this season.

Week 8 was another week of some head-scratching decisions and some disappointing performances from the New England Patriots. They were once again unable to secure the victory on Sunday.

To New England’s credit, they were able to show some promise. By the end of the game, the offense looked much better.

More from Chowder and Champions

Cam Newton bounced back with a quality performance in Week 8. Newton threw for nearly 200 yards with no interceptions while also rushing the ball for a touchdown. The problem was that he fumbled the game away.

Also, Damien Harris showed that he should likely be the starting running back. He had the most carries on the day and rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.

Finally, on offense, Jakobi Meyers proved that he should be a permanent part of the passing game. He was someone that Newton was constantly looking for and was successful catching the ball. Meyers was the leading receiver for the Patriots on Sunday.

On the defensive side of the ball, New England was able to get some standout performances. Josh Uche made his debut and he did a great job getting to the quarterback. Also, J.C. Jackson was able to get another interception which was his 4th of the season.

But the problem for New England was their run defense. They were unable to stop the Bills on the ground and it ended up leading to the Patriots’ demise. Buffalo gained nearly 200 yards on the ground.

Then there were some interesting decisions made by the coaching staff. Whether it be kicking an onside kick late in the third quarter or constantly running the ball on third and long. Belichick definitely deserves some blame for the loss.

So what did Patriots fans have to say on Twitter? They didn’t take the loss too well.

dark. Next. Dalton Keene needs to become a factor

The Patriots are 2-5 and it seems as though the season is officially over for the team. There is no recovering from a loss like that.
