The Patriots didn’t stop making moves after the frenzy on Monday. New England got another tight end who will surely boost their passing game.

On Tuesday, New England signed Hunter Henry to a three-year deal worth $37.5 million. The Patriots are not afraid to spend so far this offseason.

There is no doubt that Henry will make an impact in 2021. He is coming off one of the best seasons of his entire career.

Last season, Henry had 60 catches for over 600 yards and four touchdowns. That type of production hasn’t been seen in New England for a while.

But Henry will continue to make a major impact for New England.  This signing will completely change their passing game in 2021.

Why Hunter Henry will electrify Patriots passing game.

The fact that the Patriots have Jonnu Smith and Henry means that they will be back to the days of Rob Gronkowski and a certain tight end out of Florida.

Having this two-headed monster will surely boost the passing game. Cam Newton will have more options to throw to and I haven’t even mentioned Nelson Agholor.

Henry should have another big season in 2021. Even though he will have defenses all over him, he should still be able to make plays. Also just by drawing the attention of defenders, Henry makes his teammates better. Players like Jakobi Meyers and N’Keal Harry should have much more space to operate next year.

New England will have a much better group of pass catchers headed into 2021. Newton will have no excuses for playing poorly.

Also acquiring Henry ensures that Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene still have time to develop. After 2020 it’s clear that these two young tight ends aren’t going to make an impact in this upcoming season.

At this point, Asiasi and Keene need to just become smarter football players. This will ensure that when they are needed, they will put themselves in the right position to win games.

So Henry is definitely going to help out New England in 2021. New England isn’t all of a sudden a Super Bowl contender, but the Patriots definitley seem like they can make the playoffs. After last season that sounds amazing.
