Win or Lose, Boston Celtics Had a Successful Season
Game 7 is looming, but regardless of the outcome, the Boston Celtics had a great season.
Top seed in the east and 53 wins on the year? Yeah, I’d call that a success. The Boston Celtics are obviously striving for a title every year, but given that this season was supposed to be a rebuilding year, this team has far surpassed expectations.
I can’t even describe how proud I am of this team, of Brad Stevens and his coaching staff too. These guys shut out all the noise and just play basketball.
They’re going to be so good in the next few years.

We’ve seen flashes of what Jaylen Brown can do, and I can only believe that with more minutes and a full season under his belt, he’s going to be really good next year. Brad Stevens has put this team in position to go to the Eastern Conference Finals, without a second superstar. Yes, Isaiah Thomas is a superstar, accept it.
Imagine what Stevens can do with Jimmy Butler, Paul George or Gordon Hayward? There’s no limit, and that’s exciting as heck. This team grew together, and Boston fans have embraced these Celtics fiercely. We love our guys in green, they play so incredibly hard for a coach who has immense respect from San Antonio’s coach Gregg Popovich.
The Celtics have a front office that didn’t panic at the deadline, even when coaches were telling Danny Ainge they’d love to have Carmelo Anthony.
This organization showed this season how steady they are, how incredibly rock solid every aspect is. Nothing is perfect of course, let’s be real here. Look around the league though, the Celtics won a title, traded away their key guys, got a new coach, had a down year and are relevant again. All while teams like the Sacramento Kings are still stuck at the bottom of the NBA barrel.
They beat both Golden State and Cleveland this season.
So yes, the Boston Celtics had a very successful year. Regardless of the outcome, there’s so much to be excited for.
