The Boston Bruins re-signed forward Sean Kuraly. He may be a bottom six forward, but this is an important move by the B’s.

It’s hard to watch Sean Kuraly play and not crack a smile. He is a hockey fan’s favorite player. Kuraly plays with so much passion and plays the game the right way. It appears the Boston Bruins love Kuraly as well as they signed him to a 3 year deal with an annual cap hit of $1.275 million.

Kuraly was great on the Bruins fourth line last season. In his rookie year, he scored 6 goals and 8 assists. He was one of the main reasons the Bruins fourth line was so successful.

Kuraly skates like he was shot out of a cannon. He is a heavy hitter who can change the pace of the game.

When Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy sent the 4th line over the bench he knew they could energize the team. Kuraly fights hard for the puck in the corners which can lead to some great scoring chances.

The Bruins 4th line will have a slightly new look next season. Tim Schaller is headed West to play with the Vancouver Canucks, and the Bruins signed local kid Chris Wagner to a two year deal.

Kuraly isn’t expected to put up insane point totals. He is expected to grind and make opposing players lives difficult.

I’m glad to see Kuraly back. He proved last season that he is an effective forward who does all the little things. It may not show on the stat sheet but Kuraly is an important player for the Bruins.

The Bruins made the right move by bringing Kuraly back. He bolsters their bottom line and will hopefully have a slight increase in his scoring output.

No matter how many points he puts up you know that Kuraly will be skating hard and drilling people into the boards until the final whistle.

Next: Chris Wagner will be a 4th line grinder

That’s exactly what you want from the leader of your 4th line.
