The Celtics would have to give up a lot

If the Celtics do want to go after Anthony Davis, they are going to have to pay a hefty fee. The C’s would have to say goodbye to either Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown.

More from Chowder and Champions

Tatum is untradeable in my book. His potential is out of this world. He could become one of the top players in the NBA. Tatum averaged 13.9 points and 5 rebounds a game. He is a great shooter and was dominant in the playoffs.

Even though Tatum may not have as many shots this season with Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving returning, this will be an important season. I hope to see him averaging 20 points a game and start to show that he will be a star for year’s to come.

I would much rather trade Brown, than Tatum, but Brown has had a solid career as well. Brown is an athletic guard who isn’t a terrible shooter either. Brown’s 3 point percentage shot up to close to 40% last season.

The Celtics shouldn’t give up their most promising (and healthy) players to take a risk with Anthony Davis who may not even stay with the franchise.
