The Boston Bruins kick off their season on Wednesday and you don’t want to miss it.

Hockey is officially back! The Boston Bruins kick off their season on Wednesday night against the defending champion Washington Capitals in what should be an amazing game.

In Boston, the Bruins seem to always be the forgotten team. It’s hard when you are going up against the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. All eyes aren’t really on the Bruins until the Pats season is over, but the B’s have a team that can compete for a Stanley Cup.

The Bruins roster is just filled with young talent. People forget that David Pastrnak is just 22 years old and he is already a top winger in the NHL. When you add in the fact that the Bruins have guys like Jake DeBrusk, Ryan Donato, and Danton Heinen it just brings a smile to your face.

More from Chowder and Champions

There are no doubts that this years team will score a lot. The Bruins top line is the best in the NHL. David Pastrnak, Patrice Bergeron, and Brad Marchand were made to play with one another.

The key for the Bruins will be their play in their own zone.  At times they struggled to clear the puck out of their zone which led to easy goals being scored. Also the B’s seemed to struggle with opponents who were quick on the ice.

I expect Charlie McAvoy to continue to prove that he is a legend in the making by having another great season. When Torey Krug comes back in almost a month he should be the offensive beast that he usually is.

The question will be, can the veterans continue to perform well? Zdeno Chara isn’t getting any younger and I just hope he can keep up with the young stars in the league. Also it will be interesting to see how Kevan Miller performs as he is now the lone enforcer on the team.

The greatest show on ice?

This years Boston Bruins squad is going to be a fun team to watch. Last year Bruce Cassidy wasn’t afraid to mix up the Bruins lines and this led to some intriguing combinations.

I think this season we will see plenty of scoring and some fast-paced play. Also I think we will still see the “big bad Bruins” on the ice.

Chris Wagner and Sean Kuraly will be laying the lumber on the bottom lines and the Bruins defense is much stronger than it was last season. John Moore adds some height to a defense that was a little undersized last season.

No matter who is on the ice Bruins fans should enjoy a good season. Last year we saw Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen vault into the spotlight out of nowhere. There are plenty of Bruins that could do the same thing this season.

Next. Tuukka Rask needs to start strong in 2018-19. dark

So buckle up Bruins fans. We are in for one hell of a season.
