The New England Patriots are preparing for what looks to be an epic battle in Week 6 with the Kansas City Chiefs coming to town. Tom Brady is ready to dominate the Chiefs defense.

If you are a fan of defense you may not want to watch the New England Patriots in Week 6.

The Kansas City Chiefs and their high-powered offense will be facing off with the Patriots on Sunday night. There will definitely be no shortage of points.

Patrick Mahomes is establishing himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL. In just 5 games he has over 1,500 passing yards and 14 touchdowns. Mahomes leads the league in passing touchdowns and is top 5 in passer rating.

More from Chowder and Champions

When you add in the fact that the Chiefs have elite playmakers like Tyreek Hill and Kareem Hunt, the Chiefs offense seems incapable of being stopped.

Can’t leave points on the board

Tom Brady realizes that the Chiefs offense is a special group and that the Patriots can’t leave points on the board.

"“We’re just giving away too many scoring opportunities and that’s limiting our points,” Brady said on WEEI on Monday. “I mean, I thought we should have put 52 [points] out there, at least. Maybe more. When we’re playing a team like Kansas City, you know we’ve got to take advantage of every scoring opportunity because we know they are. They’ve proven over five weeks they can distribute the ball, and the guys they’re distributing to are getting the ball in the end zone. We’re going to have to match that. … There’s not a lot of margin for error for a team that’s 5-0.”"

The New England Patriots have struggled to score at times this season. Now that Julian Edelman is back that shouldn’t be a problem, but there is one area of the field the Patriots need to improve on.

The Patriots have struggled when they are close to the end zone. Sony Michel has especially struggled to score when near the goal line.

In Week 6 the Patriots need to execute and not settle for field goals. Field goals won’t defeat the Chiefs. The Patriots need to score touchdowns (a lot of them).

Not a fun day for Brian Flores

I do not envy New England Patriots defensive coordinator Brian Flores at the moment. I don’t have a ton of confidence in New England’s defense.

Like Brady, I think Sunday will be a shootout. The over/under for the Patriots Week 6 matchup is one of the highest in history (58.5 points). I’m not a betting man, but if I was I would be hammering the over.

The Patriots pass rush has been inconsistent and Stephon Gilmore is the only corner that I trust. Mahomes and the Chiefs should be able to take advantage and score lots of points.

Next. Rob Gronkowski still better than Travis Kelce. dark

Now, this doesn’t mean that the Patriots will lose, but all the pressure is on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots offense.
