Josh Gordon appears to be staying with the New England Patriots for the foreseeable future, and that will definitely have an impact on some of his teammates.

Josh Gordon seems to have finally found a home. Gordon has been rather succesful so far in New England, and all signs point to him being a permanent member of the New England Patriots roster.

Gordon has been getting a ton of targets and has been building a rapport with Tom Brady. Bill Belichick said that Gordon’s role will continue to expand and that has a major impact on the New England Patriots offense.

So let’s take a look at the impact of Josh Gordon’s expanded role.

Tom Brady finally has a deep threat

Tom Brady hasn’t really had someone that he can throw the deep ball to. The last true deep threat to wear a Patriots uniform was Randy Moss. So having Gordon on the roster adds a whole new aspect to the Patriots offense.

We saw how big of an impact Gordon has in the Patriots last game versus the Kansas City Chiefs.  Late in the 2nd quarter, Brady chucked a ball to the end zone and Gordon caused a pass interference call that gave the Patriots offense great field position.

Having Gordon on the roster will help out Tom Brady a lot. He has yet another weapon that he can use to tear apart defenses. Early on in the season, we have seen Brady do just that.

Brady and Gordon seem to be the perfect match for one another. I can’t wait to see what the duo can do as the season progresses.
