The walking cast Rob Gronkowski missed the New England Patriots Week 9 matchup and is once again injured. The Patriots should be smart and rest Gronk as the team heads into the bye.

Rob Gronkowski always seems to be hurt. He will probably never be 100 percent ever again in his career, but this season he hasn’t looked so hot for the New England Patriots.

Gronkowski just hasn’t been the dominant player that he was in previous years. He only has 1 touchdown and isn’t getting the targets that fans expected.

Even just watching Gronk you can see a difference. Defenders seem to be able to stay with him as he runs down the field making life very hard for the tight end.

More from Chowder and Champions

Gronkowski missed the Patriots Sunday night matchup versus the Green Bay Packers with an ankle and back injury. I’m pretty sure Gronkowski has a constant back injury. Gronk basically has a bionic spine.

The Patriots should just hold Gronkowski out of their Week 10 game against the Tennessee Titans. New England should easily beat the Titans. Tennesee’s defense is awful and I expect Tom Brady to have a field day.

Also, the Patriots offense has been doing just fine without Gronkowski. Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman are looking great. It’s not like the Patriots need Gronkowski to play in order to win.

New England also has Sony Michel coming back. The Patriots running game will be back and should be dominant. They will now have a 3 headed monster with James White, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Michel.

There is just no reason for the Patriots to play Rob Gronkowski. They would just be risking him further injuring himself.

Next. Patriots turn trash into treasure. dark

So the New England Patriots should just be smart and let Rob Gronkowski rest up. The Patriots then have a bye week so Gronkowski will be fully recharged for the 2nd half of the season.
