Boston Bruins gameday live: It’s all about the young guys
By Sam Minton
With the Boston Bruins Injury report growing by the day, Bruins fans will get a chance to see some young stars.
With all the injuries the Boston Bruins have dealt with in less than 20 games, the injury bug should be gone for the rest of the season. It’s stunning how many players are injured right now. So now some young guys have a chance to show they got what it takes.
John Moore now joins the Bruins laundry list of an injury report with a lower-body injury. Moore has looked alright besides Torey Krug but hasn’t had the pop that fans expected when he signed a 5-year deal.
It’s crazy to see the difference in lineups from opening night to now. The Bruins defense looks completely different. Matt Grzelcyk is the only defenseman remaining from opening night.

Two guys will be making their debut on Friday night, Jakub Zboril and Connor Clifton.
Zboril has been hyped for a while. He was the Bruins 1st pick in the 2013 draft. With guys like Jake DeBrusk and Brandon Carlo making an impact for Boston, Zboril has been rather unsuccessful. He hasn’t lit up the AHL as much as Boston expected.
Without all these injuries, Zboril would be stuck in Providence for another season. Now Zboril has a chance to show that the Bruins didn’t waste a first round pick on him. If Zboril struggles I think the Bruins may try and move on from him.
Connor Clifton is more of a grinder compared to the other Bruins defenseman. He can move the puck around, but I’m not expecting to be dazzled by his stick handling and shot.
Hopefully Clifton will just be a guy that the Bruins can plug in and not have to worry over.
It will be interesting to see how these rookies do. Hopefully on Friday they don’t make any rookie mistakes to cost the Bruins the game.
