Boston Bruins prospect Jack Studnicka is playing great for Team Canada at practices for the World Junior Championships that takes place at the end of December.

With all of the talent that is currently in the Boston Bruins organization, it’s hard to keep track of everyone. Especially when these players aren’t playing in Providence or Boston. Jack Studnicka has been tearing it up in Canada this year.

Studnicka is currently in the OHL and is a captain for the Oshawa Generals. In 29 games, Studnicka has 12 goals and 21 assists.

Now that’s a great start right there, but Studnicka is impressing at other levels. The center is at Team Canada training for the World Junior Championships and is making a name for himself.  In the team’s latest exhibition game he scored Canada’s only 2 goals.

Studnicka did so well he earned the praise of one of the most respected names in Hockey journalism, TSN’s Bob McKenzie. McKenzie said that “it was pretty obvious that Jack Studnicka was the best player on the ice.”

Studnicka made headlines in the offseason saying that he believed he could make the regular season roster. Even though he failed he is definitely going to be a player to watch.

If Studnicka keeps tearing it up on the National level and in the OHL he will probably spend next year in Boston. With the team struggling to score this could be just what the doctor ordered.

It will definitely be a challenge because the Bruins have such a young roster. But Boston has a ton of free agents next season. With young stars like Ryan Donato, Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo, Danton Heinen, and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson becoming restricted free agents at the end of the season, Boston will have some tough decisions.

This will mean that guys like Noel Acciari, Anton Blidh, Peter Cehlarik, and Gemel Smith probably won’t be returning to the team to make room for these key players. That would open up a spot for Studnicka to become the next young star to hopefully flourish in Boston.

The Boston Bruins have a boatload of talent and I can’t wait to see what he can do in the NHL.
