Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge had an interesting take on LeBron James recent comments about being the G.O.A.T.

Boston Celtics fans have a particular hatred for LeBron James. He can just be so annoying sometimes.

James is a very talented player it is hard to deny, but some of the comments he makes just make you cringe. In a teaser for the latest episode of LeBron’s More Than an Athlete show on ESPN+, “King James” declared himself the greatest of all time.

LeBron said that after his victory over the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals and bringing a championship home to Cleveland was when he realized he was the best to ever do it.

More from Chowder and Champions

Now this is one hell of a comment to make. In the 4 major sports you don’t see players saying they are the best to ever play the game.

We will never be able to agree on this, older fans will say it is Michael Jordan while today’s NBA fans will say it’s LeBron. Tom Brady has gone on an unprecedented run in the NFL and people still argue that Joe Montana was better.

Danny Ainge seemed rather surprised by the comments. Ainge made his weekly appearance on 98.5 the Sports Hub Toucher and Rich show and made a comparison that LeBron James won’t appreciate.

"“His career’s not over,” Ainge said “I’d just like to—why he’s saying that, I don’t know. Maybe he thinks that that sells. Maybe he’s taking the Donald Trump approach and trying to sell himself. I don’t know.”"

Now it is widely known that LeBron isn’t a fan of the president. He has been outspoken on Twitter and in the media. He definitely won’t like being compared to the guy.

Like Ainge said this comment just seems like James is trying to make people want to tune in to his show and is using himself as a marketing tool.

dark. Next. Gordon Hayward lights up Timberwolves once again

There is no doubt that LeBron James is one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA, but the G.O.A.T. debate won’t end anytime soon. If James was trying to get some free advertisement for his show he definitely did a good job.
