With the rumors of the Boston Celtics gearing up for a push for Anthony Davis, it seems like Jayson Tatum is on his way out of Boston.

The Anthony Davis saga is only heating up and seems like it may have already taken one casualty. Boston Celtics fans love Jayson Tatum but it looks like he will be leaving by the start of next season.

There is no doubt that Jayson Tatum is an amazing player. He seems like he can blossom into one of the top players in the NBA.

But if Boston wants to acquire Anthony Davis in the offseason, Tatum is probably going to be a key part of the trade.

More from Chowder and Champions

There are two quotes that make it seem extremely likely that the Boston Celtics ship Tatum to New Orleans. Danny Ainge said on 98.5 the Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich that he has talked to Tatum about his name being mentioned.

Obviously, players know when their names are brought up in trade rumors. It’s impossible to not hear your name when the entire internet is talking about you.

Now when you combine Ainge’s quote with Tatum’s thoughts on the Anthony Davis trade rumors it sure seems like Tatum was dealt some bad news.

"“My job is to control what I can control,” Tatum said prior to Wednesday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets. “I mean, I can’t control what happens, so just gotta go out there and focus on today. Just play the game. See what happens.”"

That quote may seem normal, but Tatum seemed dejected. He wasn’t his usual self.

Anthony Davis is a once in a lifetime player. You have to shoot your best shot if you want to bring him to your team. This could mean giving up a fan favorite such as Tatum.

It will be interesting to see how Jayson Tatum reacts on the court. Will he start to struggle or will he be able to focus and string together some solid performances?
