The Boston Bruins are near the top of the NHL thanks to some great goaltending from Tuukka Rask.

Boston Bruins fans love to hate on Tuukka Rask, but it is difficult to do that as of late. Rask is playing like he is one of the top goaltenders in the NHL.

The Bruins have been playing some great hockey as of late. Even without David Pastrnak, the team has kept a 10 game point streak alive. One of the major reasons they have been able to do so is Tuukka Rask’s amazing play.

More from Chowder and Champions

In Rask’s last 10 games he has a record of 7-0-2. Every single night he has given the Bruins a chance to win. What more can you ask from your goaltender?

Even after a rough start to the season, Rask has become one of the best goaltenders in the league. He is top 10 in save percentage and 8th in goals against average.

Thanks to some great play from Rask and his teammates, the Bruins are now 3rd in the Eastern Conference and 6th in the entire NHL. A win could shoot Boston up to 2nd in the NHL.

Now that the Bruins are at the top of the standings it is time to look at the big picture.

If the Boston Bruins want to be succesful in the postseason they need some great goaltending. As long as Tuukka Rask keeps playing as he has recently, the Bruins will be a top contender for the Stanley Cup.

Now I obviously want to see the Bruins win the Stanley Cup, but it would be awesome if Tuukka Rask could be one of the reasons why.

Rask could have a David Price like redemption and no longer have to deal with nonsense hatred from some Bruins fans.

Next. Hockey gods hate the Bruins. dark

So will Tuukka Rask continue to play out of his mind or will he return to the mediocre play that has plagued him these last few seasons?
