New England Patriots 2019 NFL Draft: Will Grier a perfect fit for team
By Sam Minton
The New England Patriots need to prepare for life without Tom Brady. If they drafted Will Grier they could be set for the future.
We, New England Patriots fans have been blessed with a great quarterback for the past 20 years. Tom Brady is as good as it gets, but he will have to retire soon. That means the Pats have to prepare for the future via the NFL Draft.
The 2019 NFL Draft Class isn’t as special as last year’s but there are still some intriguing names. There’s obviously Kyler Murray, but there’s another guy who should be on your radar, Will Grier.
Now Grier may not have the flashy stats of a player like Kyler Murray or Dwayne Haskins, but I think he would be a great fit in New England.

Grier shined the most while in West Virginia. The quarterback transferred to the school after spending his Freshman year in Florida. Grier continued to improve and his Senior year was the culmination of a lot of hard work.
2018 was Grier’s best season. He racked up 3,864 yards, 37 touchdowns, and only 8 interceptions. What immediately stands out is his completion percentage of 67. It shows that Grier is a rather accurate QB. He was 13th in the entire NCAA in completion percentage.
Grier is among the leaders in other stats as well. He is top 10 in passing yards and touchdowns.
The combine wasn’t great for Grier, but it looks like he redeemed himself. Apparently he dominated at West Virginia’s Pro Day.
I know the New England Patriots drafted Danny Etling last season, but I think Will Grier will be a much better quarterback. He was much more successful in college and has a decent arm. If Grier can improve on his short to intermediate passes he will be golden.
They say where there is smoke there is fire so don’t be surprised if the New England Patriots select Grier in the draft come April.
