Boston Celtics: Marcus Smart heaps praise on Kemba Walker
By Sam Minton
Marcus Smart thinks that Kemba Walker has some similar traits to one of the most beloved players in recent Boston Celtics history.
We all know that Kemba Walker is going to be the leader in the Boston Celtics locker room. Fans are hoping he is the anti-Kyrie Irving.
Walker has already proven that he is excited for the opportunity to play for such a historic organization. In return, the city has welcomed him with open arms.

Now some of the Celtics and Walker have already gotten a chance to build some chemistry both on and off the court. Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum were on Team USA for the FIBA World Cup with Walker.
It looks like Celtics fans will love Kemba Walker. Especially if he lives up to the praise given to him by Marcus Smart.
"“We had a little guy like that, similar to that on our team in Isaiah Thomas,” Smart told The Athletic. “It’s kind of funny some of those little guys that can score the ball, they have an energy and a motor about them you don’t see very often.”"
Walker is still a little guy, but not as little as Thomas. Celtics fans won’t be wincing every time he drives to the rim.
If Walker can be a better version of Isaiah Thomas the NBA better watch out. The Boston Celtics may surprise some people this season. Maybe they can sneak their way into the Eastern Conference Finals?
I expect Walker to defer much more than Thomas. This season will be a big one for guys like Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. These guys need to take the next step and prove they are ready to be stars in the league.
Tatum and Brown are the future of your team. If they start to plateau it would be quite concerning.
There is no doubt that Kemba Walker is primed to have a great season. This is the best team he has ever been on. If he lives up to the comparison that Marcus Smart made, Walker will be winning plenty of games for the C’s.
