Due to the lack of involvement from Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics ownership, players have had to rally to support TD Garden staff.

There will not be any events at the TD Garden for a while. With the coronavirus pandemic, Boston Bruins fans are forced to sit and wait (for what will be most likely a very wrong time).

Now of course as fans we think about the safety of the players who we cheer on each and every night, but there are some people who are gonna be impacted much more by the shutdowns.

More from Chowder and Champions

100’s if not 1,000’s of TD Garden employees are now out of a job. These hourly employees will feel the impact much more.

Now I would like to give credit to teams across the sports world who have committed to paying these people during the hiatus. Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks was the first owner to commit to paying these hourly employees.

Owners of the team have exorbitant amounts of money. Most of the time they are worth billions of dollars.

So I’m stunned that the only option for TD Garden employees is to get money from a GoFundMe campaign.

A lot of us were probably made aware of the campaign due to Brad Marchand sharing it on Twitter. Since then it has done a great job in raising money for TD garden employees.

The campaign was started by Gunnar, Lola, Meghan and Jon Larson. Since it’s inception it has raised over $30,000 with players such as Tuukka Rask, David Pastrnak, Joakim Nordstrom, David Krejci, and Charlie McAvoy donating to the cause.

But the players shouldn’t have to do this. There shouldn’t have to be a fundraiser at all. Jeremy Jacobs should be helping out these employees.

Do you know how much Jacobs is worth? More than $3 Billion. He literally has billions of dollars to spend.

It’s a shame that TD Garden employees are left in the dark when it comes to their next paycheck when they easily could find financial relief if the owner of the Bruins decided to be a caring human being.

The Boston Bruins aren't Stanley Cup champs. dark. Next

Kudos the all who have donated including players from the Boston Bruins. Hopefully, there will be a solution to ensure these employees are paid for the forseaable future soon enough.
