New England Patriots: Chris Simms hatred not unique to Tom Brady

Chris Simms seemed to always dislike Tom Brady and it seems his hatred of QB’s extends to anyone who is on the New England Patriots.

For some reason, Chris Simms seems to hate whoever is the quarterback for the New England Patriots. One might have thought he just had a grudge with Tom Brady but now we know that is not the case.

Of course, who could forget how Simms barely had Brady ranked as the 9th best quarterback in the NFL. With guys like Cam Newton and Matt Ryan ahead of Brady.

Newton only played in 2 games last season and didn’t look like the same QB and Brady already proved that he is better than Ryan. How on Earth is Brady not better than these guys. He probably still is. Headed into 2019 you could say Brady was a top-5 QB.

Now Simms is ranking the top 40 quarterbacks for 2020 and at No.35 is Jarrett Stidham. That’s right, the New England Patriots presumptive starter is worse than some backups.

Simms isn’t the only person to hate on Stidham. Some members of Patriots nation seem to think that New England is doomed with Stidham leading the way.

Now I’m not saying that Stidham is about to become the best quarterback in the NFL. That just won’t be happening especially in his first season as a starter.

But Stidham has some skills and a great football I.Q. Coaches and teammates have lauded over Stidham’s arm and he was able to master a complicated Patriots playbook. Stidham also has the speed and footwork to extend plays and even get a first down with his feet if he has to.

Simms has Mr. Pick 6 Jamies Winston ahead of Stidham at No. 33. I can guarantee that Stidham will not throw 30 interceptions. It’s probably even safe to say he won’t even throw 20.

Stidham also has Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels coaching him up. They will not let the young QB fail miserably. This will be a bold prediction especially for the likes of Simms, but I expect that Stidham will be a top 20 quarterback.

The hate is strong with Simms and I can’t wait for Stidham to prove him wrong.
