Brandon Carlo stayed healthy during the 2019-20 season and Boston Bruins fans got to see what he is truly made of.

The Boston Bruins seem to have an endless amount of defensive talent. That can lead to us failing to give props to deserving players.

When we think of the great defensemen on the Bruins roster we think of guys like Charlie McAvoy, Zdeno Chara, and Torey Krug. One guy who fans should be paying more attention to is Brandon Carlo.

A reason that fans sometimes forget about Carlo is due to his injury history. Last season was his first time playing in the playoffs due to injuries. The only time that Carlo played a full season was the 2016-17 season.

This season Carlo only missed 3 games. If he can keep that up he will have a long career. In 67 games Carlo had 4 goals and 15 assists. His point total and assists were career highs.

Carlo is what you want in a defensemen. He isn’t just good protecting Tuukka Rask, he can also make some plays in the offensive zone.

This season Carlo was recognized for his efforts. He was awarded the Eddie Shore Award for demonstrating exceptional hustle and determination.

Carlo has the potential to be a key part of the defense especially if he is paired with Krug he will definitely have the opportunity to make some plays.

We also don’t know what to expect from Chara. It can not be easy for a veteran player like himself to get in game speed after not playing for so long. It’s likely that Chara will have to knock off some extra rust compared to other players.

Next. Please don’t screw this up NHL. dark

So hopefully Carlo will continue to grow as a player and help the Bruins lift the Stanley Cup at the end of the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals.
