New England Patriots rumors: Josh Gordon reunion is needed
By Sam Minton
Josh Gordon is applying for reinstatement into the NFL and the New England Patriots would be wise to sign him.
The New England Patriots are rather weak in the wide receiver department. After Julian Edelman, there is quite the dropoff.
Mohamed Sanu could be a key player and everyone is expecting more out of N’Keal Harry, but with a new quarterback, the Patriots could use some more weapons. That’s where Josh Gordon comes in.

Gordon reignited his career after playing with the Patriots. In 17 total games, he had 60 catches for 1,007 yards and 4 touchdowns.
New England was able to use Gordon as a deep threat. His speed and athleticism make him dangerous in jump ball situations.
When the Patriots cut him I was stunned. It wasn’t like Gordon was playing poorly, it was disappointing to see him go. We later got an idea as to why the Patriots might have released him as Gordon was once again suspended after he played a few games with the Seahawks.
It seemed like we might have seen the last of Gordon but now that doesn’t appear to be the case. We got to hear why Gordon relapsed.
"“Josh had a lapse because of his brother’s death,” Adam Kenner told Pelissero. “But since that time, he has realized how important it is for him to take the right steps, do what’s proper and understand how to manage these issues. He’s installed the right team around him to make sure he’s on the right path. He understands he’s been given every chance. He looks forward to making the most of this.”"
Obviously, you don’t want to rely on these substances as a way to heal the pain, but it’s hard not to think that Gordon deserves another chance (even though he has already gotten so many).
Having Gordon as your 2nd or 3rd wideout on the depth chart would help Jarrett Stidham out a lot. He needs as many quality wide receivers as he can get.
Also, he would open up the offense even more. With Stidham’s arm, I expect New England to throw the ball deep much more. That is great news for Gordon.
So hopefully Gordon will be back to scoring touchdowns in a Patriots uniform in 2020.
