By Sam Minton
The Boston Celtics signed Brad Stevens to a contract extension and this helps ensure that the team’s future is bright.
The Boston Celtics have some great players on their roster. A lot of them are actually on the younger side as well.
Young stars like Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum will help to ensure that Boston is a competitor for years to come. Also having veterans like Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker helps as well.

But a rather underrated part of a competitive team is the coach. They might not play but they have an impact on how the team performs.
That’s why one of the Celtics latest moves is one of their most important. They signed Brad Stevens to a multi-year extension.
Stevens has been the C’s coach since 2013. In 7 seasons he boasts a 318-245 record. With how young Stevens is and the talent on the roster, he has the chance to become one of the best coaches in Celtics history.
Brad seems to be the guy that can lead Boston to the promised land. He has already led the C’s all the way to the Eastern Conference multiple times. With an improved roster built for the future, Boston should have sustained success.
It will be interesting to see how Stevens and the Celtics do down in the bubble. Now that Stevens has a long term deal will he be more comfortable and thus be an even better coach? Celtics fans sure hope so.
This seems to be one of the first times that Stevens has a healthy roster headed into the playoffs. How far will he be able to take this team?
Boston are the favorites to advance in the first round and should be able to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The question is will they finally be able to make it over that hump?
No matter what happens the Celtics ensure that they have strong leadership patrolling the sidelines with Stevens getting a long term deal. Hopefully, this will help attract players to come to Boston and get great players to spend their careers here instead of leaving (We are looking at you Tatum).
Stevens is a championship-caliber coach, we just have to wait and see how long it will take him to get there.
