New England Patriots rumors: McCourty twins could patrol the skies
By Sam Minton
Jason McCourty spoke to the media and it seems like New England Patriots fans could see him line up next to his twin brother Devin in 2020.
The New England Patriots are in need of some help at safety. Patrick Chung opted-out of the season leaving a rather large hole at the position.
But the Patriots have been creative in the past. We saw Devin McCourty make the jump from cornerback to safety. Now his twin brother might do the same thing.

Jason McCourty spoke to the media on Friday and indicated that he also might get some playing time at safety and that he would be open to changing positions.
"“Whatever we can do to make this team go, to make us as good of a team as we possibly can … I think we’re all open to that.”"
This would be a good idea for McCourty. He is trapped on the depth chart thanks to New England having a rather deep set of corners. They are headed up by Stephon Gilmore, but also you have great corners in Jonathan Jones and J.C. Jackson.
Playing safety would allow McCourty to get more snaps. He definitley wouldn’t get as many if he simply stayed at cornerback.
Jason would likely be a rather succesfull safety as well. He has the closing speed to make some great plays. Who could forget the amazing play he had in New England’s last Super Bowl victory, chasing down a wide open Brandin Cooks to cause an incomplete pass? I couldn’t believe my eyes when McCourty darted across the field.
It would also be a pretty cool experience for the McCourty’s to be locking things down at the safety position. Their twin intuition has got to pay off. The only thing you have to worry about is the age of the duo.
So it will be interesting to see what New England ends up doing at the position. But having the McCourty twins line up next together would definitley be the most fun.
